Fish Farming: Tanks, Fry, Feed and Harvesting
Set up the new Aquaculture route, prepare fish tanks, hatch fry, manage feed and water, and harvest surplus fish while keeping breeding stock.

Start fish farming in the new Demo
The October 19 Aquafarmer announcement adds a Wild network upgrade and a retired aquafarmer who supplies fish-raising equipment. Begin with tilapia, a circulation system, water and feed. The announcement does not name a new build number; compare your installed version before following these steps.
The developer describes fertilized roe, fry, mature fish, fish meat and sturgeon caviar. The updated interface shown in the announcement is planned for the full release and is not evidence that the current Demo has that interface.
A community guide reports that Water Trading precedes Aquaculture and that the unlock grants an introductory kit and later supplier visits. Treat that sequence and schedule as a lead to check in your save; the official announcement does not confirm those exact conditions. Do not reuse older referral prices for the new upgrade.
Set up the five parts of the circulation system
Use a charged energy cell, an RAS Water Tank, suitable filters, prepared feed and a tank with room for the fish and offspring. Read the system tooltip for water amount, quality, pollution and energy use. Read each fish tooltip for diet, water needs, health and hunger.
The community workflow recommends checking power, water, filters, feeder and tank separately before sleeping. The correct filter and feed depend on the species. Exact water volumes, cell duration and material costs remain unverified here.
Prepare feed and hatch your first fry
Add the required food ingredients to the feeder and use Blend to prepare feed, then place fertilized roe in a supplied tank. Hover over roe and fry to read the remaining hatch or growth time. Keep space for the next generation and check hunger and health after each night.
Different species can have different diets. Do not treat a community feed ratio or growth timer as a universal rule until it is checked in the current build.
Keep breeding stock separate from harvest fish
Healthy adults of a compatible species and sex can support breeding when habitat, food and space are adequate. Reserve breeding stock before using a knife on surplus fish. Selling or butchering every adult leaves the route dependent on replacement stock from the supplier.
The announcement confirms fish reproduction and harvesting, but does not publish a guaranteed breeding interval, clutch size or sale value.
Expand beyond tilapia carefully
Eels and sturgeons have their own habitat and feeding requirements. Sturgeon caviar requires Surgery Tools. Establish a working tilapia tank first, then check the live species tooltip and Wild menu before committing space to another species.
Community notes describe species-specific conditions and possible fish differences, but exact yields, feed ratios, tank upgrades and unlock prices remain pending a current-build test.
