Scavenging and After-hours Stock
Visit the Dumping Grounds, prepare for wound risk and compare scavenging with other night-time supply stops.
Evidence: Community Reported · Scope: Steam Demo; exact build varies by mechanic · Source review: 2026-10-11
After closing, use the left door to visit Dr. Jackson, the ration station or the Dumping Grounds. Scavenging supplies stock with injury risk and unpredictable returns; it is not guaranteed daily profit.
Prepare before closing
Keep enough room for loot and reserve cash for rent and essential supplies. Players report bulky finds such as a large backpack alongside low-value junk. Do not assume the next search pays for the trip.
Carry a suitable bandage. Treatment can sometimes allow searching to continue, but not every bandage heals a serious wound. Inspect the actual health state and action; stop if the wound still blocks searching.

| Expedition Supply Box | Put supplies and equipments in this box for your hireling to use during expeditions. Unused gear will be returned to you. |
Mentor's Note: After-Hours Activity
After closing the Store for the day, you should have time to visit one of the various locations around the Sector. You can always return to the Dumping Grounds to scavenge. You won't be able to bring much back to the Store without a backpack. You should also bring a bandage to patch yourself up in case you get wounded while scavenging. If you are badly hurt, you won't be able to go out for a few days.
Use the Dumping Grounds
- Close the store, then open the left-door destination menu before sleeping.
- Choose the Dumping Grounds and read the current attempt and injury displays.
- Normally you have five attempts. Follow the live counter if specialization, equipment, health or build changes it.
- Search once, inspect the loot and check whether your health changed. Make room before another attempt.
- If injured, check the available treatment and whether the game permits another search. Do not infer safety from one successful bandage use.
- Return with the goods, separate useful machine inputs from sale stock, and sleep to advance the day.
Scav Scanner costs, upgrades, loot tables and double-loot chances are not fully verified. Do not budget a guaranteed return from an unconfirmed scanner bonus.
Compare the other night stops
| Night destination | Player task | Prepare first |
|---|---|---|
| Dr. Jackson | Buy machines, cells, modules and tools, or compare resale quotes | Cash and room; stock is not guaranteed |
| Ration station / Commissary | Redeem genuine Food Stamps for tokens and spend them on food | Authenticate stamps before paying for them |
| Dumping Grounds | Search for random salvage | Loot space and appropriate injury treatment |
A night stop may replace another destination, so follow the live menu when choosing. If a rat colony urgently needs feed, buying known food can be more useful than unpredictable scavenging.
Commissary: payment, price and availability
In-game descriptions · Demo 25382790 · reviewed 2026-10-11. Availability and full gameplay effects still need verification.
Mentor's Note: The Commissary
The Commissary is run by the Republic. The prices of all items sold here are fixed, and unaffected by the market.
Nevertheless, while the price of goods is fixed, the availability of items is very much affected by the market. Only Food Stamps can be used to purchase goods at the Commissary.
Visit the Commissary after closing the Store to purchase goods.
Stock sources beyond the dump
Neon signs attract sellers; physical display goods attract buyers. Black lamps attract different thief pools whose inventory may include tools, crates and cards. Wild’s introductions provide supplier contacts for ordered deliveries. These offer alternatives to relying entirely on random salvage; see Customers and Vendors.
Ruined machines and further regions
A complete Ruined Machine Scrapping procedure, tool list and outcomes remain unverified. Do not purchase a salvage kit on the assumption that every named method is playable.
Abandoned or outer-space zones and hired expeditions are not confirmed as available in the current Demo. This route covers the accessible night destinations above.
